Why Do People Want Green Pest Control
As they say: “The World is going green.” Environmentally concerned people have selected grean as their banner color. These concerns about the environment and the impact that man has on it has brought to market many new products that have taken up that green banner and this is also true of the pest control market. Pest control products claiming to be environmentally friendly are cropping up everywhere and are becoming increasingly popular by homeowners and businesses. While the interest in green pest control programs increases the excitement soon cools when the price differential is discovered. Green pest control often costs significantly more than regular pest control methods.
Particularly popular with schools, nursing homes and hospitals and environmentally aware homeowners are requesting solutions that use less toxic chemicals. The focus of the pest control industry is shifting towards Integrated Pest Management. This is so, because Integrated Pest Management or IMP as it is generally called is much safer for people, pets and other animals. Many pest control services are no offering IPM service. IMP methodologies emphasize low and non toxic materials for pest infestation treatments. Both fear and legitimate concerns are driving the market for IPM.
Due to the increasing demand, the Integrated Pest Management Institute of North America has created the Green Shield Certified program in order to standardize the available products and services. While it is a fact that when people are experiancing a problem with pests that only want the problem solved and don’t much care how it is dealt with. Whether people are dealing with roaches, spiders, ants, silverfish, termites, or bed bugs, the concerns are the same. Exterminate the pests once and for all! Still, even with the strong push from people that are becoming more interested in solutions that don’t sacrifice the well being of people pets and especially children. While common and dated pest control methods will be continue to be used by companies more concerned with ease of use and are reluctant to change, the consumer will drive the industry and those companies well attuned to the changing desires will lead the charge. Green pest control methods will continue to grow and evolve.
