How To Create Your Very Own Whitewash Furniture
Whitewash furniture is one of those things that drifts in and out of popularity. At the moment its popularity is in state rapid incline and a result of this is that prices are soaring. There are places that you can buy high quality white furniture such as bedroom furniture for good a good price, but if you want to make your own here is how.
1.First you need to take the piece of furniture you want to whitewash and sand it down. This can be done using a pierce of sandpaper, an electric sander or maybe even chemical stripping if there is lots of paint on the piece already.Now remove all sawdust and other dirst by wiping it down with a wet cloth. Wait for wood to become touch dry
2.You then need to mix in a container, one parts water to two parts white latex paint. You’ll need a 3-inch brush and bowl of fresh water to wipe off mistakes. Use long careful sweeping brush stokes and go with the grain when painting. The watery paint has a habit of soaking into the wood quickly so you'll need to go over area well.
3.When you have competed covering the item but before the paint has a chance to dry, wipe over it carefully to uncover the grain slightly. This is give the wood a light stain look but if you want a deeper more expensive look, just repeat the previous steps as many times as you like, four should do it though.
4.When you are happy with the look, give it a light sanding again to bring out the grain again and then seal the wood using clear satin polyurethane. let the substance dry before taking an abrasive nylon pad to it and rubbing gently over it. Repeat this as many times as you like until you get a look you like. Use this method to create a great white bathroom mirror, bedside table or even dresser.
